Tips for Gown Care

Your gown: Do Not store your gown in plastic. Secure a colorfast sheet around the gown to protest it from dust. Keep the gown in an area with adequate air circulation. Avoid areas that accumulate smoke, attics or basements. If you press your own gown, do so on the wrong side, at a temperature just warm enough to remove wrinkles - test this cautiously. Avoid hitting areas with pearl or sequins. Do not press over seam lines, as this could leave marks on the right side. After your wedding, take the gown to the cleaners ASAP for cleaning / preservation.

Your headpiece / veil: Also hang veils with a cloth covering. The tulle may be gently pressed with a warm iron. Increase heat cautiously until wrinkles disappear.  A hand steamer will also work if you gently pull the tulle as you steam. Avoid steaming the headpiece.
